Civil War: America is an RTS game developed by Morningwood Studios and published by Morningwood Arts for the Windows PC on March 28th, 1999, it was also Morningwood Arts' and Studios' first game. The game features three modes; Campaign, Continental Conquest, and Battles. The game's canon Campaign follows the Union States, which was the name the United States was referred as, in their campaign against the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War, and an alternate Campaign focusing on the Confederate States.
During the game's promotion before release, it wasn't well received and many thought it wouldn't be a good game but when it was released, they were proved wrong. The game was then received very well for its accurate Union campaign as well as its alternate Confederate campaign.
The game was followed by Civil War II: 1939 in 2001.
